Elementary Music Summit® Opens Registration to Bridge Professional Development Gap for Music Educators, Empowering Student Success
HILLIARD, OH – June 17, 2025 – Recognizing the critical need for specialized professional development often overlooked by school districts, the 4th-annual Elementary Music Summit® today announced that registration is officially open. This free, online conference is dedicated to providing elementary music teachers worldwide with the targeted training and support necessary to ensure their students thrive through music education.
Since its launch in 2022, the Elementary Music Summit® has become a vital resource, reaching over 20,000 elementary music teachers globally. It offers free, content-specific professional development that directly addresses the unique challenges and opportunities within the elementary music classroom, directly empowering educators to foster profound student growth.
The 2025 Elementary Music Summit® will take place virtually from July 7th to July 11th, 2025, strategically timed to equip educators with fresh strategies and renewed confidence before the new school year. This year's summit will feature 30 leading elementary music experts who will deliver actionable insights aimed at enhancing teaching practices, preventing burnout, and ultimately maximizing student engagement and achievement.
"Elementary music teachers frequently feel isolated and underserved by general professional development that doesn't speak to their specific classroom needs," says Bryson Tarbet, M.M.Ed., host and creator of the Elementary Music Summit®. "We are on a mission to dismantle this 'music teacher island' by providing highly relevant, practical training. Our goal is clear: to ensure every elementary music teacher feels fully equipped to make a lasting impact on their students' lives, setting them up for musical success."
Attendees will gain essential skills and knowledge, including:
- Time-saving strategies to boost productivity and focus on student learning.
- Practical approaches to ensure all students, regardless of learning needs, reach their full musical potential.
- Strategies for balancing teaching demands with personal well-being, leading to more effective instruction.
- And much more, all designed to directly benefit student learning outcomes.
This year's impressive lineup of speakers includes leading experts such as Stephanie Leavell, Roger Sams, Melanie Alexander, Dr. Mary Birkner, Bill Henry, and many others, covering diverse topics from creative rhythm resources and purposeful pathways to integrating popular music and fostering LGBTQ+ inclusion – all with an emphasis on improving student experiences. Keynote speaker Bryson Tarbet will provide insights on streamlining lesson planning and instruction to optimize classroom time.
Presentations will be one hour long and available live between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern, with replays accessible for flexibility. The summit also fosters a supportive private community for attendees to connect, share ideas, and collaboratively solve classroom challenges. For those seeking advanced credentials, Vandercook College of Music MECA is offering graduate credits for live participants.
