[00:00:00] Bryson Tarbet: We're wrapping up another season and honestly. I am kind of excited to see what next season holds. You are listening to that music podcast with Bryson Tart, the curriculum designer and educational consultant behind that music teacher in the elementary music summit. Each week, Bryson and his guest will dive into the reality of being an elementary music teacher.
[00:00:26] Bryson Tarbet: And how music can truly be transformative in the lives of the students you serve. Show notes and resources mentioned in this episode can be [email protected].
[00:00:43] Bryson Tarbet: Hello and welcome back to this episode of That Music podcast, which is actually the season finale. Somehow we are wrapping up season six, um, which feels a little strange, um, to say, because when we started this podcast. Um, it was just kind of a natural extension of what we were doing with [00:01:00] Instagram live at the time.
[00:01:01] Bryson Tarbet: Um, and it's kind of spiraled into something that I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to connect with you on your commutes on, you know, during your planning periods, whe you know, while you're washing dishes, whenever you listen to podcasts. Um, and it's been really cool to be able to, uh, talk about a lot of things that.
[00:01:17] Bryson Tarbet: Near and dear to my heart, but also to get to amplify, um, a lot of the cool stuff that's going on in other people's classrooms through our guest episodes. So while we are wrapping up this season of that music podcast, I am excited to say that it's not going anywhere. We are gonna be back in mid August.
[00:01:35] Bryson Tarbet: To kick off the seventh season of that music podcast, which is gonna be a lot of fun. We just, as I'm recording this, we actually just last week, um, created our outline of what we're gonna be talking about and, you know, what episodes we're bringing and what guests we want to gr try to get and, and really, you know, amplify and what.
[00:01:54] Bryson Tarbet: What things we wanna do, and it's been really excited to see, you know, how we can build on what we [00:02:00] already have. You know, this is episode 193, so there's a lot of content that already exists. So how can we build on that? How can we talk about new things, but also talk about things we've already talked about in a new way?
[00:02:10] Bryson Tarbet: Knowing that I. The world is a very different place. You know, I launched this podcast right, right before covid. We'll shut everything down. Um, so it's really interesting to see. So as we look forward into season seven, the ways we're going to be able to dive into new topics and explore topics, we've already talked about new ways.
[00:02:29] Bryson Tarbet: I think it's also important for us to wrap up and kind of look back at season six because this has been personally. An interesting season. You know, I left the classroom at the end of May, um, and we, this is the first season that I've really been doing this full time and being able to really give it a little bit more attention, um, now that I'm not in the classroom.
[00:02:52] Bryson Tarbet: And it's been really fun. You know, we added YouTube, so if you're watching us on YouTube, say hello. Let us leave as a comment. You know, if you're not, um, check us out. We, [00:03:00] we, you know, you get to see my wonderful new office set up here. But it's been really interesting to, you know, whenever I record these wrap up episodes, I get a little, it's a little interesting because quite frankly, I never thought we'd make it this far.
[00:03:16] Bryson Tarbet: I never thought this podcast would, would, would be extended to the way that it is and to be able to, you know, have, have the listen listenership that we do. And I think it's been really interesting to see, you know, quite frankly, podcasts are a very slow growth. It's not something that. You know, instantly, we have a bunch of people that are listening to, um, you know, we're still growing the podcast and we're still trying to, to get new, new teachers to, to listen and to, to hear what's going on.
[00:03:43] Bryson Tarbet: Um, but it's really cool to be able to start to, you know, hear we, we've definitely heard more feedback than previous, at previous seasons this season. Um. It's been really nice. So I guess, I guess really all I'm saying is, you know, if you send us feedback, if you let us know what you, what you like, what you don't like, leaving us [00:04:00] reviews, like that really helps us understand what you want more of, what things you resonate with and what things you really don't resonate with.
[00:04:06] Bryson Tarbet: You know, we've been really tracking the data this season, um, a little bit more than normal, uh, or in previous seasons and we've, we've noticed some trends about what topics really, you know, tend to go, you know, not viral, but to go get a little hotter, right. Things that people are a little bit more interested in are a little bit more.
[00:04:22] Bryson Tarbet: Um, wanting to, wanting to try and wanting to, to, to list, listen and learn more about. So we appreciate those feedback, that feedback. We appreciate the emails we get talking about, you know, you know, in reflection of what we talked about. Um, we appreciate those reviews that we get on iTunes, Spotify, wherever you're listening.
[00:04:40] Bryson Tarbet: Um, and I really wanna make this a short and sweet episode, but I really just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to do this, allowing me to. Create content that hopefully serves you in your classroom. Um, and as we continue to plan season seven, 'cause we're definitely not done planning season seven, we would love if you were to let [00:05:00] us know what you wanna hear.
[00:05:01] Bryson Tarbet: So send us an email, [email protected] or send us a DM at that music teacher on Instagram. What types of content, what voices do you want to hear? What people do you, do you think I need to talk to as a guest? What concepts, what ideas? What are you struggling with? What are you, what do you wanna talk about?
[00:05:16] Bryson Tarbet: Maybe you wanna be a guest, like send us an email, connect with us. We would love to be able to, um, consider that feedback when we plan out season seven. So with that being said. Thank you for listening to this season of That Music podcast, and thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of the students that you teach.
